Do I need to be an experienced skater to join?
LRSC membership is designed for skaters preparing to participate in U.S. Figure Skating tests and to continue progressing in the sport. As skaters approach their first testing opportunities, club membership provides access to the resources, guidance, and support needed to help them achieve their goals.
Where does Laurel Ridge Skating Club practice?
Our home arena is the Rinks at Shelton in Shelton, Connecticut, where we have proudly skated since 2013. Members enjoy access to club ice sessions, test sessions, and other club events held at this facility.
Do I need my own skates and equipment?
For your first few times on the ice, rental skates at the Rinks at Shelton work fine. As skaters progress, most invest in their own properly fitted figure skates. Coaches and longtime members are great resources for recommendations on skates, blades, and equipment fitters in the area.
How do I register for an upcoming test session or event?

Founded in Ridgefield in 1974, Laurel Ridge Skating Club has grown into one of Connecticut's most established figure skating communities. Today, we skate out of the Rinks at Shelton, serving skaters who are pursuing U.S. Figure Skating tests and advancing their skills through structured training and competition.
